[suh-lil-uh-kwee]
~~an utterance or discourse by a person who is talking to himself or herself or is disregardful of or oblivious to any hearers present (often used as a device in drama to disclose a character’s innermost thoughts): Hamlet’s soliloquy begins with “To be or not to be.” (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/soliloquy)
Now, technically this blog will not be made up of soliloquies, because I am not really speaking to myself when I write, though I suppose if no one reads it I will be. However as a soliloquy is someone speaking their thoughts outside the flow of conversation, it fits well enough. I have always liked this word since learning it in high school vocabulary. It’s fun to say (try it) and I have even been so privileged as to be able to use it properly in a few sentences.
So here I go! I am a blogger now…
Welcome to the world of blogging.
…and have fun.
Love,
Mama
